So where does that put him in relation to the GM?

Would think so, but at the same time it's hard to believe. I would welcome someone in that position, and would have no issues with it being Patty.

Good move - ala Colorado with Sakic. Now time to bring in a coach that and coach and motivate this team to play. Even though we won last night - that game was the last straw from me.

Mike Peca would be an interesting coach

The only difference with Sakic taking over in Colorado was that he job shadowed for 2 years as an advisor learning the team and analyzing their management. I dont think Patty has any managment experience, but I agree it is a good hire as it will spark everyone around the team.

No. I know you love Me Peca and he has done an amazing job coaching the Junior Sabres . But he is a long way from being an NHL coach . Perhaps in the future but not yet.

I'm not sure how they think that's a good idea. This is Pegula being insane.

Rolston was set up to fail. In no way shape or form is he the problem with this team.

If it's true that Lafontaine have fired everybody... yes that's a good thing. And In my opinion, Pegula should only and only stick to signing paycheck.

Very good news for Sabres.

Some claim it's the modern day GM position....In many case the President of hockey operations has the final say involving the team...That includes trades/signings etc...

He set up a system that was vanilla. His personel decisions were very questionable at best. Was he dealt a poop hand? Yes, but honestly, his team layed much better last year than this. We havent lost much going into this year. This team plays like they have no confidence in him whatsoever.

Buffalo Sabres are moving in the right direction with these moves.

LaFontaine is a class act and Ted Nolan is a very good NHL head coach.

So where does Ted Black stand in the midst of all this. Is he still President just of a different sector?

Not a fan of Darcy Regier but in his defense, at least his successor will have a lot of assets to work with.

Ted has always manned the marketing aspect of the team, and has had nothing to do with hockey decisions.

I loved Nolan back when he actually coached in the NHL. I'm not sure we can still call him a very good NHL Head Coach though.

About a 50/50 career record. Hasn't been a head coach in four or five years.

Still, anything is better than Rolston.
